Track Name: The Lucid
One drink for the lucid.
Scout it out for the fame.
Something about this was always twisted,
the way we rub dirt over the name.
Take one in for the glory.
Tie it down with a chain.
Squander the resistance,
don’t let them know their name.

You don’t want to be here when they find out, they find out
who we are.
‘cause we all came down just to watch it fall
watch it fall.
I know we’re all trying just to get by
get by,
but I want to finish what we started
cause it could be great

Send me an ultimatum.
Stain it with red.
Bring down the cobwebs,
the lies in his head.
Send me your regards.
Bent up letters rust.
Bring down the old signs,
fading neon lights.

You don’t want to be here when they find out, they find out
who we are.
‘cause we all came down just to watch it fall
watch it fall.
I know we’re all trying just to get by
get by,
but I want to finish what we started
cause it could be great

here we are inside the guilt of it all
here we are trying to play it safe
Fighting for change.

Come astray and come with me.
Come astray and come with me.
I know we’re all trying just to get by
get by,
but I want to finish what we started
cause it could be great

Come astray and come with me.
Come astray and come with me.
Track Name: Gravity Drop
Do you remember when we were making castles out of clouds? Watching them dance around, watching them dance around.
Casting shadows over city streets.
Keep the sun away from me, keep the sun away from me.

These were our lives, gravity drops, my step is light.
Day turns to night and I thought I was right
‘cause these were our lives.

Did you feel it when it was time to move on?
The clouds to the next town, the clouds to the next town.
There were sunshot people standing.
Don’t forget it happened, don’t forget it happened.

Stand up for what you thought you knew
Step back to watch it happen
Don’t say you’ve gone away on a count of past mistakes.
Don’t say you’ve gone away on a count of past mistakes.

Don’t say you’ve gone away. Do you remember when? Do you remember when? x4
My company is here to keep. x4

These were our lives, gravity drops, my step is light.
Day turns to night and I thought I was right
‘cause these were our lives.
Track Name: Striker Wheel
I could tell there was no changing his mind, but I tried
and in life there’s hardly second chances so I stopped to talk him down
I stuck my ear to the ground to listen for the rumbling of the tracks, but all I heard was
the flicker of his thumb over the striker wheel
As the ashes from his cigarette fell, I heard the drums stop beating
and the whistle of the siren down the street
He told me of his history and all the secrets in between
I tried my best to listen, but there was a feeling in the way

Before they lay me down.
Before they lay me down.

I remember visiting hours, last room on the right
Marching past the nurses station just to get to see him
with barely a pulse. I took his hand left hanging through his sleep
and I waited for the sound of silence before I gathered up my things
I waited for every last exhale to leave
as our history was laid to rest.

We had so many dreams, but only so few chances. There were ashes at our feet. There were colors rising up. Maybe we did too much taking. Maybe we did too much taking. Maybe we did too much taking, but there’s no color in your cheeks. We spent so many days to get here. Maybe we did too much taking. Maybe we did too much taking. I heard the drums stop beating, I heard the drums stop beating.

Before they lay me down.
Before they lay me down.
Before they lay me down.
Before they lay me down.
Before they lay me down.
Before they lay me down.
Before they lay me down.
Before they lay me down.
Track Name: Dunes
I’ll stop for just a second, to watch the cop cars drive by
over the dunes of Provincetown, where your fathers ashes lie.
over the dunes of Provincetown, where your father’s ashes lie.
I know where you’re going, and I know where you’ve been

so what is it that get’s you by,
do your terrors come when you close your eyes?
what is it that gets you by,
do you sleep on through the night?

hear the howling of the pack, who’ve come to take you in.
to the place to lose and win, and start again
to the place to lose and win, and start again.
I know how you got here, and I know how you’ve been.

So what is it that get’s you by,
do your terrors come when you close your eyes?
What is it that gets you by,
do you sleep on through the night?
What is it that gets you by,
do your terrors come when you close your eyes?
What is it that gets you by,
do you sleep on through the night?

I know the roads been long, and some of us have lost our ways.
What is it that gets you by,
do your terrors come when you close your eyes?
What is it that gets you by,
do you sleep on through the night?
What is it that gets you by,
do your terrors come when you close your eyes?
What is it that gets you by,
do you sleep on through the night

One day we all will fall.
One day we all will fall.
One day we all will fall.
One day we all will fall.
One day we all will fall.
One day we all will fall.
Track Name: Blood Ties
Maybe she was just trying to save you with her fist full of gravel and your mouth filled with iron. Who could blame her when her belly swelled so unexpectedly?
She keeps a journal just next to her bed where she writes down all her dreams
every morning when she wakes she can write down her hopes for a new day.

The crowd is still,
blending with run down buildings and parked cars.
Blood filled bodies connected through
the projected heat of former days.

Tell me what do you run from? When you know time always catches up,
and I can see the mark she left behind your eyes, oh
I can see the marks he made across your core, oh
I can see the marks you made to follow your vein, oh
She could never show you the ways the she escaped,
her body is fluid now
her heart is cold
The crowd is still,
blending with run down buildings and parked cars.
Blood filled bodies connected through
the projected heat of former days.

Blood spatter on the cracked streets of strangers
lies still as a memory
of a belly that once swelled,
only to cave at the release
only to cave at the release.
As if you never carried me
As if you never carried me.
